Vandalia's Miller Takes Third Place at 190lbs at IHSA 1A Individual Wrestling State Finals


Vandalia wrestling senior Ross Miller has finished in third place in the 190lb weight class at the IHSA 1A Individual Wrestling State Finals. Miller beat Will Julian of Byron by Decision, 7-0, in the Third Place Match. Miller went 4-1 in the tournament getting a win by Decision in the Prelims before battling to a Tiebreaker win in the Championship Quarterfinals. He suffered a loss to Logan VanDuyne of Wilmington by Decision, 4-1, in Overtime 1 in the Championship Semifinal to go into the Wrestleback Semifinals. Miller bounced back from his only loss of the tournament to beat Daniel Jackson of Red Bud by Decision, 4-1, in the Wrestleback Semifinals to earn his spot in the Third Place match where he took down Julian for Third Place. With his finish this year, Miller improves on his sixth place finish at 175lbs from the 2025 State Finals as he is now a two-time state qualifier and medalist.
