Vandalia junior Max Philpot is a back-to-back Champion at the IHSA 1A Individual Wrestling State Finals after he was a Winner by Decision, 5-4, over Jeremiah Lawrence of Chicago Hope Academy in the Championship match of the 132lb weight class. Philpot finishes the tournament at 4-0 as he got a Preliminary Round win by Tech Fall (16-1 in 2:28), got wins by Fall in the Championship Quarterfinals (in 5:27) and Semifinals (in 5:24) before his Championship win.
