Ten Vandalia boys wrestlers are set to begin their quests for state titles today as they begin competition at the IHSA Individual State Wrestling Finals at the State Farm Center in Champaign today. The Vandals are represented by state qualifiers Kaiden Daugherty at 106, Riley Hinton at 120, Preston Waughtel at 126, Max Philpot at 132, Brody Matthews at 138, Eli Mabry at 144 Dade Kleinik at 150, Dillon Hinton at 157, Zayne Zinkgraf at 165 and Ross Miller at 190. The boys will begin competition with preliminary matches this morning at 11:00am. Winners of those matches will wrestle again at 5:30pm in the Quarterfinals. Wrestlers who fall in the Prelims will wrestle again on Friday morning at 9:00am when action resumes for the second day.

106lbs – Kaiden Daugherty: Daugherty will face Nate Lower of Taylor Ridge Rockridge in the Preliminary Round.
120lbs – Riley Hinton: Hinton will face Jack Ragan of Dixon in the Preliminary Round.
125lbs – Preston Waughtel: Waughtel will face Isaiah Perez of Oregon in the Preliminary Round.
132lbs – Max Philpot: Philpot will face Camden Brucker of GCMS in the Preliminary Round.
138lbs – Brody Matthews: Matthews will face Alex Kostecka of Kankakee McNamara in the Preliminary Round.
144lbs – Eli Mabry: Mabry will face Arrison Bauer of Lena-Winslow in the Preliminary Round
150lbs – Dade Kleinik: Kleinik will face Tanner Hansen of Johnsburg in the Preliminary Round.
157lbs – Dillon Hinton: Hinton will face Kaden Collins of Stanford Olympia in the Preliminary Round.
165lbs – Zayne Zinkgraf: Zinkgraf will face Casey Etheridge of Princeton in the Preliminary Round.
190lbs – Ross Miller: Miller will face Sami Marrero of Horizon/Southwest Chicago in the Preliminary Round.
