Mulberry Grove grabbed a first quarter lead but had to work through a comeback attempt in the fourth quarter coming up short to Gillespie, 71-69, on Monday. The Aces got out to a 17-10 lead in the first quarter behind ten points from Conner Hartmann. The Miners found their offensive rhythm in the second quarter though, outscoring the Aces 30-22 despite 14 points from Hagan Henrichsmeyer and eight more from Hartmann in the quarter as they trailed by one point, 40-39 at halftime. Mulberry Grove was outscored again in the third quarter, 21-13, as the Aces fell behind 60-52 to end the third quarter. The Aces staged a comeback in the fourth quarter though, going on a 17-11 run, but get just short and took the 71-69 loss. Mulberry Grove drops to 6-18 on the season and they will be back in action on Thursday as they host Mt. Olive for their final regular season home game.
