Brownstown-St. Elmo ran out to a 17-0 lead over Red Hill to open the game and never looked back as the Lady Bombers got a dominant 47-12 win over the Lady Salukis in the first semifinal game of the North Clay 1A Regional on Monday night. The Lady Bombers got out to a 17-0 lead before allowing Red Hill their first basket of the game to cut it to 17-2 before the Lady Bombers ended the quarter with a 20-5 lead behind 11 points from Dayana Haslett and six point from Danika Ramsey. BSE found their three-point stroke early with four three-pointers in the first quarter, two of them from Ramsey, one from Haslett and another from Addie Sasse. Three more three-pointers in the second quarter with two more from Ramsey and another from Presley Williams helped BSE go on a 13-3 run to push their lead to 33-8 by halftime. The Lady Bombers scoring slowed again for BSE in the third quarter as they outscored Red Hill 10-1 with another two three-pointers from Haslett as their lead grew to 43-9 to end the third quarter. The Lady Bombers and Lady Salukis combined for just seven points in a running clock fourth quarter as BSE finished off the 47-12 win. The Lady Bombers are now 28-3 on the season and advance to the North Clay Regional Championship game on Thursday at 6:00pm against Dieterich who beat Altamont in the second semifinal game, 35-26.
