Ten Vandalia boys wrestlers earned a bid to the Individual State Wrestling Tournament with top four finishes at the Vandalia Individual Sectional on Saturday. The Vandals have five Sectional Champions with Preston Waughtel at 126, Max Philpot at 132, Dade Kleinik at 150, Dillon Hinton at 157 and Ross Miller at 190 all went undefeated in the tournament to grab their first place finishes. Kaiden Daugherty at 106 turned in a second place finish while Brody Matthews at 138, Eli Mabry at 144 and Zayne Zinkgraf at 165 worked their way through wrestlebacks for third place finishes and Riley Hinton at 120 came in fourth place to secure his bid to State. The boys will begin competition with preliminary matches at the Individual State Finals on Thursday at the State Farm Center at the University of Illinois with the tournament continuing on Friday and things wrapping up Saturday with the place matches.

106lbs – Kaiden Daugherty: Daugherty lost to Braxton Tittle of Benton by Tech Fall, 21-1 in 3:50, in the Championship. **Finishes in 2nd Place and has qualified for State**
126lbs – Preston Waughtel: Waughtel beat Vincent Moore of Litchfield by Tech Fall, 19-3 in 3:44, in the Championship. **Finishes as Sectional Champion and has qualified for State**
132lbs – Max Philpot: Philpot beat Dawson Hawthorne of Belleville Althoff by Decision, 15-8, in the Championship. **Finishes as Sectional Champion and has qualified for State**
150lbs – Dade Kleinik: Kleinik beat Matthew Walsh of Breese Central by Decision, 7-3, in the Championship. **Finishes as Sectional Champion and has qualified for State**
157lbs – Dillon Hinton: Hinton beat Landon Weidler of Belleville Althoff by Fall in 3:49 in the Championship. **Finishes as Sectional Champion and has qualified for State**
190lbs – Ross Miller: Miller beat Logan Tanner of Murphysboro by Decision, 3-0, in the Championship. **Finishes as Sectional Champion and has qualified for State**

120lbs – Riley Hinton: Hinton lost to Nathan Fisher of Belleville Althoff by Major Decision, 13-3, in the Third Place Match. **Finishes in 4th Place and has qualified for State**
138lbs – Brody Matthews: Matthews beat Jace Weaver of Johnston City by Fall in 3:35 in the Third Place Match. **Finishes in 3rd Place and has qualified for State**
144lbs – Eli Mabry: Mabry beat Kaden Blades of Benton by Fall in 1:10 in the Third Place match. **Finishes in 3rd Place and has qualified for State**
165lbs – Zayne Zinkgraf: Zinkgraf beat Joshua Lamour of Paris by Decision, 13-12, in the Third Place match. **Finishes in 3rd Place and has qualified for State**
