Altamont got off to a quick start with a 30 point first quarter as St. Elmo-Brownstown struggled to find offensive consistency and the Indians took down the Eagles 72-43 on Friday night in National Trail Conference action. Altamont outscored SEB 30-13 in the first quarter as two Indians hit double digit scoring early with Parker Bell scoring 11 points and Cooper McManaway putting up 10 points in the run. The Indians again doubled up the Eagles in the second quarter, 18-9, as they extended their lead out to 48-22 by halftime. Altamont had Jacob Johnson join Bell an McManaway in double digit scoring and SEB was relying on Graidon Wilhour with 16 of its 22 points in the first half. The Eagles were able to outscore the Indians 13-10 in the third quarter, but were only able to cut their deficit down to 58-35 at the end of the third quarter. A 14-8 run by Altamont in the fourth quarter closed out the win for the Indians, 72-43. Altamont improves to 18-9 on the season and to 5-2 in the NTC. They have a quick turnaround as they jump right back into action this afternoon traveling to Lawrenceville for a 1:00pm matchup. SEB drops to 14-13 on the season and to 2-6 in the NTC. They will have an Egyptian Illini Conference contest on Tuesday at home against Ramsey.
