Mulberry Grove Gets Road Win at Christ Our Rock


Mulberry Grove boys basketball won their second game in a row this week, getting a 36-31 win on the road at Christ Our Rock Lutheran on Thursday night. Offense was slow from both teams to start the game as Mulberry Grove was held to just a pair of baskets from Conner Hartmann in the first quarter, but the Aces held the Stallions to just six points and Mulberry Grove trailed by two, 6-4, to end the quarter. Spreading eight points across four players with two points each in the second quarter, the Aces were outscored again by just two points, 10-8, as their small deficit doubled to four points, 16-12, at halftime. Mulberry Grove hit double digit scoring in the third quarter and went on a 13-6 run, led by five points from Heston Henrichsmeyer and four from Carson Caylor as they pulled ahead of the Stallions 25-22 at the end of the quarter. The Aces were able to again outscore Christ Our Rock in the fourth quarter, 11-9, with eight points from Hartmann in the quarter to close out the 36-31 win. Mulberry Grove moves to 6-16 on the season and has a quick turnaround as they get back into action tonight at South Central.
