Altamont held Neoga to single digit scoring in all but one quarter as they used big second and third quarter runs to put the game out of reach and beat Neoga 68-30 in National Trail Conference play and give Coach John Niebrugge his 300th win. Altamont pulled ahead with an 11-4 first quarter run as they spread the scoring out and got four starters in the scoring column early. Altamont began to pull away in the second quarter, as Cooper McManaway dropped seven points and Kade Milleville and Zaine Miller each put in five points in the quarter and Altamont outscored Neoga for a 34-12 halftime lead. The Altamont momentum carried into the second half as a 26-10 third quarter run led my McManaway with 12 points and Miller with seven points and the game was blown open 60-22 to end the third before they outscored Neoga 10-8 to finish off the 68-30 win. Altamont is now 17-9 overall on the season and stands at 4-2 in the NTC. They are back at it on Friday for another NTC game, hosting St. Elmo-Brownstown.
