As the final week of the girls basketball regular season gets underway tonight, I70Sports area teams now know their matchups for the postseason that will get underway on Saturday with quarterfinal games. In Class 2A, the 11th seeded Lady Vandals will have to go on the road for their postseason opener, as they will travel to 6th seeded Sullivan for a 1:00pm game on Saturday as part of the Teutopolis Regional. The winner of that game will move on to face 2nd seeded Teutopolis on Monday at 6:00pm.
In Class 1A, four area teams have been assigned to the North Clay Regional. In the quarterfinals 4th seeded Dieterich will host 13th seeded Wayne City at a time on Saturday still set to be announced and 12th seeded Ramsey-Mulberry Grove will be at 5th seeded Altamont with that game set for 7:00pm on Saturday night. The winner of those two games will then meet each other in the second semifinal game on Monday at 7:30pm. Also in the North Clay Regional, #1 seed Brownstown-St. Elmo has a first round BYE and will get their postseason started in the first semifinal game on Monday at 6:00pm where they will face the winner of the quarterfinal game between 9th seeded North Clay and 8th seeded Red Hill. The North Clay Regional Championship game will then be Thursday at 6:00pm.
Also in Class 1A, CHBC and South Central will both have to make long road trips for their quarterfinal games of the Webber Regional. The 10th seeded Lady Bobcats play at 7th seeded Webber on Saturday at 1:00pm with the winner to move into the first semifinal game on Monday 6:00pm against 2nd seeded Edwards County. The 11th seeded Lady Cougars will play at 6th seeded Lawrenceville at a time still set to be announced for Saturday. The winner of that game will advance to the second semifinal game on Monday at Webber at 7:30pm against 3rd seeded Woodlawn.
