In Mondays 68-50 loss to Salem, Lady Vandals Senior Guard reached a milestone in her high school career, surpassing the 1000 career point. Late in the fourth quarter, Whitehead was found in transition and was able to get a layup to fall from the right side to give her points 1000, and 1001. After the game, Whitehead said that it was an accomplishment she’s been wanting to reach for a long time.
Whitehead also said it was something she was aware of coming into the game, but was wanting the game to come to her.
Whitehead now sits at 1001 points in her high school career. She has the rest of her senior season to add to that total.
