BSE Rolls Early Lead Into Big NTC Win Over Altamont


Brownstown-St. Elmo held Altamont to single digit scoring in the first half and to just 18 points overall in the game as the Lady Bombers ran away from the Lady Indians for a 57-18 win in National Trail Conference action at Brownstown on Thursday night. BSE held Altamont to just a three-pointer from Adilyn Schnarre and a free throw in the first quarter while five points from Dayana Haslett and four points from the free throw line by Presley Williams fueled a 16-4 BSE run. The Lady Bombers opened the game up in the second quarter as Altamont was held to just a three-pointer by Justyce Higgs while BSE had 14 points from Dayana Haslett in the quarter and Danika Ramsey hit a pair of three-pointers as the Bombers went up 39-7 at halftime. The Lady Indians were able to slow down BSE in the second half and hold them to 18 points across the third and fourth quarters but the Lady Indians were only able to put 11 more points on the board, six of them from Higgs on a pair of three-pointers as BSE rolled on to the 57-18 win. The Lady Bombers are now 19-1 on the season having won their last 16 straight and are now 4-0 in the NTC. They will be off until Tuesday when they begin play in the National Trail Conference Tournament. Altamont falls to 9-9 on the season and 5-3 in the NTC. They will be in action on Monday at the NTC Tournament when they play Dieterich at 1:00pm in the Quarterfinal round.
