Brownstown-St. Elmo Girls Hold Strong at #1 in Latest AP Poll

There was a lot of movement in this week’s 1A Associated Press Girls Basketball Poll but the one thing that did not change is the Brownstown-St. Elmo Lady Bombers are holding steady in the #1 spot in the poll. BSE had just one game in the last week, getting a dominant win on the road at Mt. Olive to move to 18-1 on the season. After receiving just one first place vote last week, they received two first place votes this week while their total points in the poll dropped from 45 to 42. Brown County moved up behind the Lady Bombers into the #2 spot after a 3-0 week that saw them jump up the two spots from #4 last week. Deer Creek Mackinaw made a big jump also, as they went 3-0 this last week as well to move up from the #8 spot to #3. BSE has a big week and a half ahead of them as they will host the Brownstown High School Hall of Fame game tonight, taking on Altamont in National Trail Conference action before beginning play in the conference tournament next week as the #1 seed as they try to make it back to the Championship game and avenge a five point loss to St. Anthony in last year’s title game.
