Altamont Outlasts Marshall in Road Win


Altamont boys basketball bounced back from a road loss on Monday to get a win on the road Tuesday night, beating Marshall 48-42. After a balanced first quarter between the two teams, the Indians trailed by a single point, 13-12. The game remained close in the second quarter, but Altamont was able to flip their narrow deficit to a slim lead, outscoring the Lions to go up 22-21 at halftime. That lead would be edged out to 34-31 to end the third after the Indians outscored Marshall 12-10 in the quarter. The Indians hit one three-pointer from the floor but the remainder of their 14 points in the fourth quarter came from the free throw line as they hit 11 for 18 from the line as they doubled their lead to six points to close our the win, 48-42. The Indians improve to 8-6 on the season and they will be on the road for the third time this week on Friday when they travel to Dieterich for a National Trail Conference matchup.
