Altamont got off to a strong start and ended the game strong, but struggles in the second and third quarters were the difference in a 57-44 loss at Teutopolis on Monday night. The Indians were right with the Shoes throughout the first quarter as Altamont trailed by a point to end the first quarter, 14-13. The Indians struggled to score from the floor in the second quarter though, being held to just six points from the floor and going two for four from the free throw line as they were outscored 16-8 in the quarter and trailed 30-21. That deficit would grow to 15 points by the end of the third quarter as the Indians were outscored 16-10 and trailed 45-31 at the start of the fourth quarter. Altamont outscored Teutopolis 13-11 in the final eight minutes, but were unable to put together a big enough run to cut down the Wooden Shoes lead any further as they suffered the 57-44 loss. The Indians drop to 7-6 on the season and have a quick turnaround s they get right back into action tonight as they travel to Marshall.
