Brownstown-St. Elmo girls basketball will play their first home game of 2026 tonight and it will be a big 1A matchup against Nokomis at this midway point of the girls season. The 16-1 Lady Bombers are coming off of a 75-44 win at Vandalia on Monday night while Nokomis comes into Brownstown sporting a 13-2 record after a 46-15 win over North Mac, also on Monday. The two teams show some similarities as each team’s losses have come to bigger schools with BSE’s lone loss at the hands of 3A Highland while Nokomis has fallen to 2A schools Williamsville and Hillsboro. Both teams also return several starters this year with quick guard play and some size in the post much like last year’s matchup between the teams. JV action will get underway between the two teams at 6:15pm tonight at Brownstown High School with Varsity to follow and we will have the broadcast of the Varsity game at approximately 7:30pm on 107.1FM WKRV as well as streaming live at www.vandaliaradio.com and on the Vandalia Radio app.
