Pro Wire Athlete of the Week

Our Pro Wire Athletes of the Week for the week of December 21 are BSE’s Madi Miller, Hagan Henrichsmeyer of Mulberry Grove & CHBC’s Griffin Vaughn.

A junior forward for BSE, Miller notched a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Lady Bombers in their National Trail Conference win over Neoga on Thursday. The double-double was the fifth of the season in 11 games for Miller who is now averaging 13.3 points and 8.8 rebounds a game for the 10-1 Lady Bombers who now prepare to defend their title at the Dieterich Holiday Tournament and attempt to pull off the three peat.

A senior guard for the Aces, Henrichsmeyer put together a big 31-point performance for Mulberry Grove on the final day of the St. Elmo Holiday Tournament to help the Aces stop a four game skid and get their first win of the tournament. Henrichsmeyer has a strong week with 59 points across three games, averaging just under 20 points a game and was rewarded for his effort on the week as being named Second Team All Tournament.

A junior guard for the Bobcats, Vaughn has stepped up as a leading scorer for CHBC, a role he started building up to late last season after some big changes with the team during its second half. Off to a solid start to this season, Vaughn has put together a strong four game run, averaging 19 points a game in that time including scoring a season high 25 points on Tuesday at the St. Elmo Holiday Tournament. His strong week was recognized as he was named Second Team All Tournament at the St. Elmo Holiday Tournament.
