The Altamont Lady Indians bounced back from a pair of tough losses earlier this week to grab a 49-40 win over Flora on Friday afternoon in their final game of the Bob Kerans Tournament hosted by Newton. The game would be a close battle in the first half as Altamont trailed by one, 11-10, at the end of the first quarter and again trailed by one point, 24-23, at halftime. The Lady Indians picked up their defense in the third quarter, holding the Wolfgals to just five points to take a 40-29 lead by the end of the quarter. Altamont was outscored in the fourth quarter 11-9, but their third quarter run was enough to get them the 49-40 win. The Lady Indians are now 3-2 on the season and will be back at it on Monday as they go on the road for their first National Trail Conference matchup of the season, traveling to Dieterich to face the Movin’ Maroons.
