Turnover Troubles Lead to First Loss of Season for Altamont at Bob Kerans Tournament


Altamont girls basketball knew they had a tough test on Monday coming up against Effingham at the Newton Bob Kerans Tournament and the Hearts proved to be too strong as the Lady Indians were handed a 49-17 loss. Altamont was held to just five points in the first half on a three-pointer in the first quarter and a basket in the second quarter as they trailed 28-5 at halftime. The Lady Indians got a bit more scoring in the third quarter, putting six on the board, but continued to trail 39-11 to end the third before adding just six more points in the fourth quarter and taking the 49-17 loss. Altamont is now 2-1 on the season and has another tough test coming up on Wednesday as they play host Newton at 7:30pm in their second game of the tournament.
