The South Central Lady Cougars got their first win of the season on Thursday night, getting a 36-28 victory over the North Clay Lady Cardinals. Points were hard to come by in the first quarter, with South Central holding a slim 7-6 advantage. The Lady Cougars would get the offense going in the second quarter, outscoring North Clay 13-5, to take a 20-11 lead at halftime. The Lady Cardinals began to close the gap in the third quarter, going on a 12-8 run to cut the deficit to 28-23 entering the fourth quarter. The fourth quarter would be all South Central, however, as they would outscore North Clay 8-5 to come away with the 36-28 victory. The win improves the Lady Cougars to 1-1 on the season, and 1-0 in NTC play. South Central will have a little over a week in between games, as they will be back home on December 1st to take on BSE.
