The Vandals scored early and often on their way to a 42 to 6 win over CZRE today at Mark Greer Field in Round 1 of the playoffs.
With the win, the Vandals are now 10-0 on the season and will move to the 2nd round of the playoffs. The Vandals will head on the road for round 2, but it will be a fairly short drive to Bond County. The Vandals will play at Greenville in round 2. That’s after the Comets get a 35 to 32 win over Stanford Olympia today to move into round 2. This will be the 3rd all time playoff meeting between the rivals, with the Comets beating the Vandals (at Edwardsville) in round 2 in 2008 and then the Vandals winning at Greenville in round 2 in 2017. The two teams matched up at Greenville in week 6 with the Vandals getting a come-from-behind 28 to 18 win on that day.
