South Central Comes Up Short in Regional Semifinal Battle


South Central volleyball battled from the first point to the 25th point both sets but came up just short as they suffered an 18-25, 22-25 loss to Okawville in the semifinals of the St. Elmo 1A Regional on Wednesday night. After trailing 9-4 in the first set, the Lady Cougars tied things up 9-9 and again at 15-15 before the Rockets pulled away to a 23-17 lead. Three consecutive net serves would end the set with South Central falling 18-25. Another tight battle ensued in the second set till Okawville again pulled away late, 20-14. The Lady Cougars cut it to 20-17 but Okawville was able to hold the Cougars off as South Central fell 22-25 for the two set loss. South Central ends their season at 15-15.
