SEB Claims Third Straight EIC Tournament Championship with Win over CHBC


For the third straight season, the St. Elmo/Brownstown claimed the championship of the Egyptian Illini Conference Tournament with a 25-15, 25-18 win over the Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Lady Bobcats on Thursday. The two team traded points in the first set eventually being tied at 11. It would be all SEB from there however, as they would go on a 14-4 run to come away with a 25-15 set win. The second set would be much of the same, as the two teams would once again trade points with the set being tied at 16 midway through. The Lady Eagles however would go on a 9-2 run to win the match 25-18. The win improves the Lady Eagles to 18-12 on the season, and secures them with their third consecutive EIC tournament championship. SEB will host a regional, begging play on Tuesday taking on Patoka. CHBC falls to 11-21 on the season. They will start postseason play on Tuesday in the SEB regional taking on Altamont.
