Vandalia Football Breaks Through Into Week 9 AP Poll

Vandalia football has done their job through eight weeks of competition, going 8-0 and they’ve finally broken through with voters of the Associated Press to sit at #10 in this week’s AP Class 3A Football poll. In the Week 9 poll released on Wednesday, the Vandals received 12 votes to go from unranked to taking the #10 spot in the Top 10, up from their showing as the #12 vote getter with six votes last week. They are one of six undefeated teams in the Top 10 with just this week’s home matchup against Litchfield on Friday night remaining in the regular season before this year’s playoff pairings are released on Saturday evening. With playoff projections really ramping up over the last few weeks, the Vandals have been projected to be both the largest 2A school and the smallest 3A school depending on which projection is looked at with many variables still possible that could go into play before the final playoff brackets are released and the Vandals class for the postseason is known.
