In the 2025 addition of the Volley for a Cure Match, the Vandalia Lady Vandals dropped a heartbreaker in three sets to the Greenville Lady Comets 20-25, 25-22, 14-25 on Tuesday night. Vandalia jumped out to an early 7-1 lead in the first set, but Greenville would quickly rally to tie the set at 12. The Lady Comets would then go on a 13-8 run to win the set 25-20. The Lady Vandals would once again take an early lead 11-7 in the second set, and would later go on a 6-3 run to extend their lead to 17-10. Greenville would storm back however, going on a 10-5 run to close the game to 22-20, but a 5-2 run by Vandalia would tie the match at a set apiece. The Lady Comets would jump out to an 8-3 lead in the third set and never look back coming away with a 25-14 victory, winning the match in two sets. The loss drops the Lady Vandals to 2-30-1 on the season. The Lady Vandals will be at home to wrap up the regular season on Thursday to take on North Mac.
