Altamont soccer held a lead for a good portion of the second half, but suffered a 3-2 overtime loss to T-Town in the semifinals of their own Altamont 1A Regional on Monday. The Wooden Shoes scored first, but Altamont quickly tied it up at 1-1 as Ashton Buchanan was able to catch up to a deep kick and break to the goal putting it in for his first goal of the game. With the game still tied, the next Altamont goal played out much like in the first half, as Buchanan again tracked down a ball and after some contact with a Shoes defender, was able to get a kick off with his right foot to put the Indians on top 2-1. With just a few minutes left in regulation, T-Town tied the game up at 2-2, forcing overtime. With IHSA postseason overtime rules stipulating two 10-minute overtime halves, T-Town was able to score on a rebound to take a 3-2 lead. Altamont was able to get a few looks on goal in the second overtime half, but was unable to put it in goal as they came up just short 3-2. Altamont ends their season at 10-13.
