Dieterich Girls Second While CHBC, Dieterich and Altamont Boys Go 3rd, 4th, 5th at National Trail Conference Cross Country Meet

Dieterich girls and boys cross country teams both finished in the Top 3 at the National Trail Conference Cross Country meet on Tuesday while CHBC and Altamont boys both turned in top 5 team finishes. Five I70Sports area athletes turned in medal performances with Dieterich senior Trevor Crutcher claiming the Individual Conference Championship in the boys race and last year’s champion, CHBC senor August Cosart came in third this year.

In the girls race, Dieterich junior Lena Goebel finished in third place with CHBC sophomore Zoe Sarver right behind her in fourth place and Dieterich freshman Violet Iffert came in sixth as all three earned medals that were awarded to the top seven finishers. Goebel and Iffert’s finishes helped lead the Dieterich girls to a second place team finish, just one point behind conference champion St. Anthony.

For the boys race, Dieterich senior Crutcher got across the line 24 seconds ahead of the second place finisher with CHBC senior Cosart placing third, just ten seconds behind the second place runner. The remaining scoring runners for CHBC were able to push CHBC to a third place team finish while Dieterich was just four points behind in fourth place and Altamont grabbed a fifth place team finish.
