Altamont Soccer Grabs Shutout Win Over Pana

The Altamont Indians bounced back from a tough one goal loss at home earlier in the week to grab a 3-0 shutout win on the road at Pana on Friday night. The Indians gave themselves multiple scoring opportunities early on but just missed on several shots going off the cross bar. Ashton Buchanan would be the first Indian to find the back of the net, putting on in about 15 minutes into the first half to put Altamont up 1-0. Caleb Overton put the Indians up 2-0 before the end of the first half, scoring on a pass from Juan Fulk. Much like the beginning of the first half, the Indians again gave themselves multiple scoring chances early in the second half but found both the crossbar and even the side posts multiple times before Cooper Pals put the ball in the goal off of a rebound and give Altamont a 3-0 lead that would hold as the final score as the Indians completed the shut out. The Indians are now 8-12 on the season and will play their final regular season game on the road at Charleston on Monday before having a few days off to prepare for the postseason as they will face Mt. Carmel on Friday at home in the quarterfinals of their own Altamont 1A Regional.
