Our Pro Wire Athlete of the Week for the week of October 11th is the Lady Vandals Tennis team and Vandals Senior Kohnor Depew.
Although it’s been a bit of a trying season for the Lady Vandals, they have come up with some very solid performances. This past week, the Lady Vandals went to Centralia and came away with a 5 to 4 win–their first ever win over the Orphan Annies. The Lady Vandals then followed that up with an 8-1 win this week over Shelbyville. With the new tennis courts under construction at VCHS, the Lady Vandals have been road warriors with just one match at home all season.
On Friday, Kohnor Depew did the damage receiving and rushing. Kohnor caught 4 passes for 139 yards and 2 Touchdowns. He also rushed for 102 yards and a TD on just 3 carries. Kohnor’s performance helped the Vandals roll to a 41 point halftime lead and cruise to the win and improve to 7-0 on the season.
