Vandalia’s Lewis and Ramsey’s Gillock Advance to IHSA 1A Golf Sectional

Vandalia golf senior Jack Lewis and Ramsey golf senior Bryce Gillock have advanced on to Sectionals after qualifying finishes at the IHSA 1A Regional hosted by Carlyle at Governor’s Run Golf Course. Lewis shot a 76 for the day to tie for 5^th place while Gillock finished with a 78 to tie for 10^th place as both were part of the 10 advancing athletes who were not part of an advancing team. Vandalia senior Owen Halford with an 85 and Altamont freshman Mason Schaub also with an 85 were both just two strokes off of the cut of 83. In the team standings, Ramsey finished in 9^th with a team score of 350 while Vandalia was 10^th with a 355 and Altamont finished 12^th with a score of 376. The IHSA 1A Teutopolis Sectional is set for Monday, October 6 at Effingham Country Club.
