CHBC rallies to beat BSE in Baseball Action

The Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats found themselves trailing 5-1 after four innings, but rallied in the sixth to come away with a 7-5 win Monday night. After two scoreless innings, the Bobcats got on the board when Daithyn Arnold scored on a wild pitch to take a 1-0 lead. That lead would be short-lived, as BSE would tie the game in the bottom half of the inning, off an RBI double from Logan Lach to make the score 1-1. The Bombers would take the lead in the fourth inning when a fielder’s choice from Nolan Wilhour allowed Dodge Willms to score to give BSE a 2-1 lead. Wilhour would later come home to score on an error, before a single from Calvin Voelker would score Keelan Speagle, and another CHBC error would allow Voelker to score, to cap off the inning with the Bombers holding a 5-1 lead. That lead would hold up until the top of the sixth inning, when CHBC would start to mount their comeback. Isaac Wells would single to score Ben Askins to make the score 5-2. Two batters later, Cayden Ondes would single, and an error in the outfield would allow Wells and Connor Vaughn to score to cut the deficit to 5-4. After a single and a hit by pitch, Casey Macklin would tie the game with a single, the Bobcats would take the lead for good with a bases-loaded walk, and a single from Kale Hardimon to take the 7-5 lead. CHBC would hold the Bombers scoreless over the last two innings, securing a 7-5 comeback win. The win improves the Bobcats to 4-8 on the season. They will be back in action tomorrow to take on WSS. BSE falls to 5-11 on the season. They will be back at home on Tuesday to take on Ramsey.
