South Central Middle School softball will compete in the Quarterfinals of the IESA 1A State Softball Tournament today at Champion Fields in Normal. The Lady Falcons are competing in the State Tournament for the fourth year in a row and are looking to improve on the program’s fourth place finish a year ago. South Central is 19-4 on the season and will play at 3:30pm today in the State Quarterfinals against Pontiac St. Mary’s who is 19-2 on the season after beating South Wilmington in their own Pontiac Sectional. The winner of today’s game will move into the semifinals to meet the winner of the quarterfinal game between Mendota Holy Cross and Gifford. A win today also guarantees a Top 4 and trophy finish in the tournament while a loss today would end the season. We will have the broadcast of today’s quarterfinal game on 107.1 FM WKRV and will also be streaming live at www.vandaliaradio.com and on the VandaliaRadio app.
