The Brownstown/St. Elmo Bombers saw their seven-game losing streak come to an end on Thursday night, getting an 11-1 victory over the Ramsey/Mulberry Grove Rams. The Bombers got off to a hot start in the top of the first inning when Logan Lach singled to score Calvin Voelker. Two batters later, Lach would score on a single from Zayden Gillespie, and Nolan Wilhour would reach on an error, allowing Gillespie to score, giving BSE a 3-0 lead. The Bombers would continue to add on in the top of the second when Tucker Davison tripled to score Benji Lowe. Davison would later come home to score on a fielder’s choice from Lach, and Lucas Powell would round out the scoring for BSE after reaching on an error, allowing another run to score, giving the Bombers a 6-0 lead. BSE would break the game open with a four-run third inning, before the Rams would get their lone run on the board off a sacrifice fly from Braxton Moreland to cut the deficit to 10-1. Powell would single to score Calvin Voelker, and the Rams would be held scoreless in the bottom of the fifth, to secure the Bombers with the 11-1 win. The win improves BSE to 4-9 on the season. They will be on the road today for an NTC matchup with North Clay. The loss drops the Rams to 0-9 on the year. They will be back in action today to take on Odin/Patoka/Sandoval.
