It might have taken extra innings, but the Dieterich Movin’ Maroons earned their second straight NTC win with a 3-2 extra innings victory over the South Central Cougars on Tuesday night. The Maroons got on the board in the bottom of the second inning when Mason Lidy reached on an error that allowed Gavin Meinhart to score giving Dieterich a 1-0 lead. Carson Baxter would single to score Lidy to increase the lead to 2-0. The Cougars got on the board in the top of the fourth inning when Chase Guerrattaz singled to score Garrett Shumae to cut the deficit to 2-1. South Central would tie the game in the top of the fifth inning when Aiden Hoover would groundout allowing courtesy runner Eli Hiestand to score tying the game at 2. That score would remain until the bottom of the ninth inning when with two on and two out, Andrew hall would walk it off with a single allowing Justin Boerngen to score giving the Maroons the 3-2 win. The win improves the Maroons to 6-6 on the season and 4-2 NTC play. Dieterich will be on the road on Friday to take on CHBC. The Cougars fall to 5-8 on the season and 1-5 in NTC play. South Central will be on the road Friday to take on WSS.
