Altamont Soccer Falls at Effingham

Altamont soccer took a short trip east on Saturday to face a tough opponent in the Effingham Hearts and suffered a 6-1 loss in the match. The Indians were able to get off to quick start and took a 1-0 lead on a goal from Aiden Rosales just a handful of minutes into the game. That would be it for Altamont’s scoring though as Effingham was able to tie things up at 1-1 and the game stayed knotted in the tie going into halftime. The Hearts got things going and scored five unanswered goals in the second half as the Indians were unable to stop Effingham in taking the 6-1 loss. Altamont is now 4-7 on the season and they will take a week of from competition before getting back into play on Saturday at home against Greenville to start a three game homestand heading into next week.
