The Dieterich Movin’ Marrons took advantage of 5 errors, and held the Brownstown/St. Elmo Bombers to just one hit in route to an 11-0 win on Friday Night at Bob Page Field. After a scoreless first inning, the Marrons got on the board in the top of the first inning off of a Gavin Meinhart homerun to take a 1-0 lead. Three batters later, Justin Boerngen drove in a pair of runs with a single to give Dieterich a 3-0 lead. The Maroons would continue to add on in the third when Meinhart singled to score Dominic Ashley to make it a 4-0 ballgame. Carson Baxter would reach on an error allowing two more runs to score, capping off a 3-run inning to give the Maroons a 6-0 lead. Dieterich would add on four runs in the fourth and one in the fifth, and would hold the Bombers to just one hit over the next two innings, securing the 11-0 win. With the win, the Maroons improve to 5-6 on the year, and 3-2 in NTC play. They will be at home on Tuesday to take on South Central. The loss drops the Bombers to 3-7 on the year, and 2-4 in NTC play. BSE will have a quick turnaround on Saturday to take on Woodlawn.
