Vandals Junior High Baseball Routs Staunton on Eighth Grade Night


The Vandals Junior High Baseball Team scored in all four innings, including 9 in the fourth, to earn a 15-0 win over the Staunton Terriers on Monday. The Vandals got on the board in the top of the first inning when Keaton White scored on a balk. Two more runs came across the board when Evan Peyton doubled to score Jack Doehring and Jaxton Carroll to give the Vandals a 3-0 first-inning lead. The Vandals would add on in the bottom of the second when Carroll singled to score White and Gabe Lewis to make it a 5-0 ballgame. Vandalia would continue to add on runs, with one in the third on a single from Mason Wilkerson, and nine runs in the bottom of the fourth, highlighted by a grand slam from Carroll to put the run-rule into effect, securing the 15-0 win. The Vandals Junior High Baseball Team improved to 12-1-1 on the season. They will be on the road on Wednesday to take on Mullberry Grove.
