The Ramsey Rams opened up conference play in a big way, getting a two-set win over the Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats 25-7, 29-27 on Thursday. The Rams jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first set and never looked back, controlling the set 25-7. The Bobcats rebounded in the second set, however, as they jumped out to an 8-4 lead and extended that lead to 18-11 midway through. Ramsey would rally to cut the deficit to 21-18, and the two teams would continue to trade points in a thrilling back-and-forth affair, but the Rams would eventually close it out with the 29-27 set win. The win improves Ramsey to 2-2 on the season, and 1-0 in EI play. They will return home on Tuesday to take on Bunker Hill. CHBC falls to 1-2 on the year, and 0-1 in EI play. They will be back in action on Saturday in the Sullivan Tournament.
