Dieterich Uses 6-Run Fourth Inning to Beat Christ Our Rock

Dieterich used six runs in the fourth inning to come back from a run down early and beat Christ Our Rock Lutheran, 7-2, on Tuesday. The Silver Stallions opened up the game’s scoring with a run in the top of the second and another in the top of the third innings for a 2-0 lead. The Maroons cut that lead in half with a run in the bottom of the third inning when a hard hit ball from Bryce Bohnhoff resulted in a Christ Our Rock error that allowed Justin Boerngen to score and pull Dieterich to within a run, 2-1. After holding Christ Our Rock scoreless in the top of the fourth, Dieterich got back to work offensively with Jackson Icenogle hitting a single to lead off the inning before Dominic Ashley drove the ball over the right field fence for a 2-run home run to give the Maroons the lead, 3-2. A sacrifice fly from Traden Kessler, a 2 RBI triple from Bohnhoff and a passed ball allowed four more runs to be put on the scoreboard by Dieterich as they took a 7-2 lead. That lead would hold through the final three innings as the Maroons closed out the win, their third on the year. Bohnhoff finished the day 3-4 at the plate with three RBI while Andrew Hall got the complete game win on the mound allowing just two runs, one earned, while striking out four batters. Dieterich is now 3-4 on the season and will be on the road today to take on Odin/Patoka/Sandoval.
