Maroons Baseball Goes 0-2 at Wooden Bat Classic

Dieterich baseball went 0-2 on Saturday, dropping both games they played at the Teutopolis Wooden Bat Classic. In their first game, the Maroons struggled to get their offense going with just three hits in a 12-1 loss to North Clay in their tournament opener. That put them into a matchup with another very familiar team, St. Anthony. The Maroons had a rough first inning allowing five runs to trail early. The remainder of the game would be a straight pitchers duel with the Maroons earning just two runs on four hits while the Bulldogs had one run on four hits in that time. They were unable to recover from the first inning though, suffering the 6-2 loss. Dieterich drops to 2-4 on the season and will be back at home today to take on Christ Our Rock Lutheran.
