Indians Battle, but Fall in Two Sets to Carlyle


The Altamont Lady Indians rallied from big deficits, but fell in two sets, 19-25, 21-2,5, to the Carlyle Lady Indians on Thursday night. The first set was a back-and-forth affair that saw the two teams tied at 13 midway through. Carlyle would go on a 9-0 run to take a 22-13 lead. Altamont would rally to go on a 5-1 run to cut it to a 23-18 deficit, but Carlyle would score the next two points to come away with the 25-18 lead. Carlyle would come out strong in the second set and lead most of the way, but Altamont would once again rally, but could not fully swing the momentum, falling 25-21 in the second set. The loss drops the Lady Indians to 0-2 on the season. They are on the road on Tuesday to take on Newton.
