St. Elmo-Brownstown stayed unbeaten on the season while Vandalia is still searching for its first win as the Lady Eagles beat the Lady Vandals in two sets 25-6, 25-16 on Thursday night. SEB got out to a quick 8-2 lead and went on a 6-0 run to push themselves out to a 14-2 lead. Vandalia was able to tack a few points on the scoreboard, but the SEB offense put the first set away 25-6. Vandalia had the serve to start the second set and was able to score first on an SEB error and take a 4-2 lead. SEB would tie things up at 4-4 with the two teams battling back and forth the next several points to a tie again at 8-8. With Vandalia showing adjustments from the first set, the Lady Vandals would utilize some well placed hits before SEB took advantage of a few Vandalia hitting errors to get a lead for good and play to the 25-16 set win as the Lady Eagles beat the Lady Vandals in two sets. SEB moves to 3-0 on the season and will have a week off before returning to action next Thursday at home against rival South Central. Vandalia drops to 0-2 to start the season and will be on the road on Tuesday when they travel to Pana.
