Despite being outhit 5-2, the Altamont Indians took advantage of 13 walks en route to a 10-2 win over the Dieterich Movin Maroons on Tuesday night. The Maroons got on the board in the top of the first inning after Andrew Hall reached on a one-out single, and later came around to score on a triple from Jackson Icenogle. After a scoreless bottom of the first and top of the second, the Indians took the lead when Brayden Elam scored on a wild pitch to tie the game at one. Altamont would take the lead on a single from Blake Berg, and two more runs came across the board off an error to make it a 4-1 ballgame. The Indians added three more runs in the bottom of the third inning, taking advantage of multiple bases-loaded walks, giving them a 7-1 advantage. Dieterich would attempt to chip away at the deficit in the top of the fifth inning. After a single, a walk, and a bunt, Bryce Bohnoff would hit a sacrifice fly to make it a 7-2 game. Altamont would put the game away in the sixth, however, when Parker Bell would hit a bases-loaded double to give the Indians the 10-2 win. Altamont improves to 1-0 on the season and 1-0 in NTC play. They will be on the road on Friday to take on WSS. Dieterich falls to 1-2 on the year and 0-1 in NTC play. They will be at home Friday to take on Neoga.
