Bombers' Bats Struggle in Loss to OPS


The Brownstown/St. Elmo Bombers could only manage five hits as their offense struggled, falling to Odin/Patoka/Sandoval 10-3 on Monday afternoon at Bob Page Field. OPS scored one run in the first inning and added three in the second to jump out to a 4-0 lead. BSE chipped away at the lead in the bottom of the second when a Lucas Powell sacrifice fly scored Nolan Wilhour to make it a 4-1 game. OPS would blow the game open in the top of the third, scoring two runs, before adding one in the fourth and three in the seventh to jump out to a 10-1 lead. The Bombers would add two runs in the seventh, but could not get any closer as they would fall to OPS 10-3. The loss drops BSE to 1-1 on the season. They will be on the road on Tuesday to take on South Central.
