Altamont Boys Take First Place and Elam Second Individually, Pearcy Third for Girls at Flora


The Altamont boys and girls golf teams competed in a quad match on Friday against North Clay, Cisne and Flora at the Clay County Country Club. The Altamont boys came in first as a team, winning by tiebreaker, with a score of 186 with Flora taking second with 186. Sophomore Evan Elam tied for second place individually for the Indians with a 45. For the girls, Flora took first with a 245 while the Lady Indians and the North Clay girls did not have enough for a team score, but Cecilia Pearcy led Altamont with a score of 57 and took third place overall individually for the girls match. The boys will send guys to compete at Champaign Centennial on Monday with others playing at Colonial Golf Club against host Sandoval and Teutopolis also in attendance while the Lady Indians will also be at Sandoval.
