Ben Roedl, Altamont – The jumps specialist was dominant in his senior season for the Indians. In the high jump, he took first place in 10 of 15 meets he competed in the event finishing fourth twice, finishing in third once and his other two finishes being second place finishes at the Illinois Top Time Indoor Championships and at the IHSA 1A State Track and Field Finals. In the long jump, he turned in 9 first place finishes in 15 meets with four top 4 finishes including fourth at the Illinois Top Times Indoor Championships and a third place finish at the IHSA 1A State Finals. And in the triple jump, he took seven first place finishes and five second place finishes with his key wins being second place at the Illinois Top Times Indoor Championships and ultimately the State Championship at the IHSA 1A State Finals. Roedl owns school records in all three jump events after beating and resetting those records numerous times over the last two years and he will go on to compete collegiately as he will compete for Division I Eastern Illinois University.

Kohnor Depew, Vandalia – The junior sprinter burst onto the track scene, competing for the first time as a high school athlete, and was purely dominant. In the 100m Dash, he would place first in every race except for his 8th place finish at the IHSA 1A State Finals. In the 200m Dash, he would also finish first in every race in the event with the exception of his 6th place finish at the IHSA 1A State Finals. Depew was also a key member of the sprint relays for the Vandals as the third leg in the 4×100 and 4×200 relay teams. The 4×100 relay would place first five times and take second at the conference and Sectional meets and qualify for State where they finished in 17th place and the 4×200 relay team would place first in the races Depew competed in and also qualify for State and finish in 18th place. Depew also competed four times in the high jump, turning in three first place finishes and one third place finish at the Conference meet. Depew broke the VCHS school records in both the 100m Dash and 200m Dash and then beat and reset his own record several times through the season and helped the 4×100 and 4×200 in breaking those school records as well.
