Tyson Waughtel-
Tyson will simply go down as one of the greatest High School wrestlers in Illinois history and capped it off with a perfect Senior Season for the Vandals. Tyson went 58-0 on the season–finishing his High School career at 210-2 all time. During his Senior season, he was the Champion of the CM Tournament, Princeton Tournament and the Litchfield Tournament. He then capped the year off by winning his 3rd straight individual state title and helping the Vandals to a 2nd place finish at the Dual Team State Tournament. Tyson was a 4 time Sectional Champion, a 4 time State Finalist and a 3 time State Champion. He now moves on to the Big 10 and will wrestle at the University of Wisconsin.
Max Philpot-
Max is two years into High School and has already filled up at least one trophy case. Max built off an outstanding Freshman season by going 51-0 his Sophomore year and winning the CM Tournament, the Princeton Tournament and the Litchfield Tournament. After falling in the Championship match his Freshman year at the Individual State Tournament, he won the championship this past year and also passed 100 career wins. One of the top wrestlers in the state will return to anchor a strong Vandals squad for the 2025-26 season.
