CHBC senior libero Birgen Schlanser had a breakout season in her final year, leading the team in digs with 435 with her effort culminating in reaching a plateau not many high school volleyball players in the area have reached. During an Egyptian Illini Conference Tournament pool play game against Patoka on October 22, Schlanser reached 1,000 career digs making a nice save on a move to her left as she elevated and dug a shot near the sideline to keep CHBC in the play. She ended the night with 1,014 career digs and picked up another 29 digs to end her career with 1,043 total digs. Her 435 season digs would be 27th best in the State of Illinois for the season.
