Vandalia junior Kohnor Depew became just the second Vandalia High School boys track athlete to medal in two events at the IHSA 1A State Track Meet after earning top 8 finishes in the 100m Dash and the 200m Dash. In the 100, Depew ran a time of 11.17 seconds to finish in eighth place. Depew then followed that up with a sixth place finish in the 200, running a time of 22.15 seconds that was a personal record by .02 seconds and also broke the school record in the event that Depew had already beaten three times previously this season. Depew is the first VCHS boys track athlete to earn medals in two events at State joining Curtis Gordon who was a double medalist in the 110m Hurdles and Pole Vault in both 2015 and 2016. Depew ends his first season of high school track, owning both the 100m Dash and 200m Dash school records and is also a part of the school record 4×100 and 4×200 relay teams.
