BSE’s Monnet Advances to State Track Finals, Currently Sits In Fourth Place

Brownstown-St. Elmo thrower Trenten Monnet has extended his senior season for another couple days after earning an advancing spot to the Finals in the Shot Put at the IHSA 1A State Track Meet at Eastern Illinois University. During Thursday’s Prelims, Monnet had a best throw of 53’ to put him in fourth place heading into the Finals. Monnet will get three more throws on Saturday to try to better his position and secure himself a spot on the podium. Monnet was a medalist in last year’s State Finals, taking 6^th place in the Discus and will look to become a two-time state medalist in the throws events.
